Commissioner Brian M. Lingela
Commissioner Brian Muletambo Lingela serves is the acting Executive Director of the Zambia’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). He has previously served as Director of Mergers and Monopolies, Director Cartels and Restrictive Business Practices and Director Consumer Protection. As the Director of Consumer Protection, he was responsible for protecting Zambia’s consumers from unfair trading practices during which he served as Zambia’s alternate designate for Consumer Protection for the UNCTAD. He has spoken widely both locally, regionally, and globally on Competition and Consumer Protection issues under the auspices of the ICN, ICPEN, the Commission and the African Dialogue on Consumer Protection. In 2015, he served as International Visiting Fellow at the USFTC. Since 2018, he has served as Commissioner on the Commission’s Board of Commissioners where he served as a Member of the Technical and Strategy Committee and the CID.
