The COMESA Competition Commission (“the Commission”), wishes to inform the general public that it hosted a successful Regional Validation Workshop for the Draft Guideline on the Implementation of the Merger Control Provisions under the COMESA Competition Regulations (“the Regulations”) and the COMESA Competition Rules (“the Rules”) which took place 1 – 2 July 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The workshop which attracted the participation of representatives from the national competition authorities of the COMESA Member States and Competition Law Experts and Practitioners from various law firms on the continent, witnessed a cordial and open-minded discussion which helped to generate useful inputs into the work of the consultants.

The Commission, in this regard, wishes to express its sincerely gratitude to the participants to the workshop for the job well done and wishes to assure the participants and the general public that the Commission will critically consider and accommodate the inputs from the workshop.
